As we’ve seen with the reveal of their massive studio tent, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are hard at work filming segments for the upcoming totally-not-“Top Gear” Amazon Prime series “The Grand Tour.” Following the reveal of the show’s roaming tent studio, Clarkson and crew dropped a video of them pulling a move from their “Top Gear” bag of tricks — breaking a car.
Fans of “Top Gear” know that these three are no strangers to pushing cars to the point of carnage, but this Range Rover might be the Amazon show’s first victim. Adding insult to injury, the mud-spattered and clearly off-roaded Land Rover Range Rover was a rental and wasn’t supposed to be subjected to off-pavement punishment.
What we like about this short clip is that Clarkson, Hammond and May act like nothing has changed besides the people signing their paychecks. The three all have the same playful energy and chemistry that they did when working for the BBC, and the stress of starting an entirely new show hasn’t seemed to dampen that.
Look forward to the show arriving on Amazon Prime sometime this fall.
